So… whenever I head up to my sewing room, I have a little furry friend that follows me. My Cat likes to smooch around the room and keep an eye on me while I’m sewing… but until now there hasn’t been anywhere for her to sit.
For a wee while I put a towel on the floor for her to sit on, she turned her nose up at that. I mean… she’d sit on it for a bit, but then wander off. To be honest, I love having her up there with me so I put my mind to how I could keep her in the room with me (you know, without locking her in or tying her to the table). And then it came to me! Every time I make a quilt she climbs all over the pieces, pounces on the measuring tape when I’m working on the floor, and tries to climb on my lap when I’m hand-stitching the binding. And if I leave one in a bunch on the floor… boom! She’s straight on it. The answer was obvious… make her a little quilt of her own.
The Handsome Husband thought I was a bit strange, so I’ve officially been labelled a crazy cat lady now.
I used scraps from other quilts I’ve made ( or almost made) and even managed to learn a little bit… I had to stitch two pieces of batting together and I totally nailed it… or rather my amazing new sewing machine nailed it!
Anyway, the quilt was an immediate hit… here’s my furry friend enjoying it
